Why this page suits ages 5–6
Five-year-olds want a page that takes a while, and this one does:
- rows of scales — dozens of small shapes, each one its own decision,
- a long straight body — a rare page with more straight lines than curves,
- a row of teeth — countable, and the obvious thing to talk about.
💬 Tip for grown-ups
Count the teeth together, then count the scales down the back. At five, counting past twenty on something real is more useful than any worksheet.
