Why this page suits ages 4–5
Alternating is harder than it sounds, and that is why this page is useful:
- stripes that must alternate — the child has to hold a rule while working,
- a clear pattern to follow — the mistake is visible, which teaches more than praise,
- a simple body shape — nothing else competing for attention.
💬 Tip for grown-ups
Start at the neck and say "black, skip, black, skip" out loud together. Saying the pattern is what makes it stick.
