Why this page suits ages 6–8
A scene with three figures asks for something a single subject does not:
- three figures to keep consistent — the mare and foal should look related,
- overlapping shapes — the child has to work out what is in front of what,
- a face, hair and hands — the smallest and most careful areas on the page.
💬 Tip for grown-ups
Ask what happens next in the picture before your child starts. Scenes invite stories, and a child who is telling a story colors for twice as long.
