Why this page suits ages 3–4
A cross is two lines meeting at a right angle, which is a real drawing milestone:
- a large cross on the side — the shape a four-year-old is about to learn to copy,
- square windows — corners to steer around,
- a boxy body — large and straightforward.
💬 Tip for grown-ups
Draw a cross in the air together before colouring it in. Copying a cross is one of the standard milestones at four — this is practice that does not feel like practice.
