The best page here for a first attempt at blending:
- layered petals — each ring slightly darker or lighter than the last,
- curved narrow shapes — precise, but forgiving if the shade is close,
- a tight spiral centre — the finest work on the page.
💬 Tip for grown-ups
Use two shades of the same colour rather than two different colours. Light-to-dark within one colour is the simplest kind of shading and it looks far better than it is hard.
