Ages 5–6🍂 Fall
Fall patterns: what comes next? Continue the pattern, ages 5–6
Four rows of autumn pictures that repeat by a rule: in twos, in threes and with a doubled picture. Each row ends with two empty boxes.
Done — the sheet is in your downloads
In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.
Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?
Finding the rule in a row is an early math skill.
- Four patterns from the easiest: AB, AAB, ABC and ABB.
- The child says the pattern out loud first, then draws.
- Drawing in the boxes: a rough sketch is enough.
💬 Tip for parents
Read the row out loud in rhythm: “leaf, chestnut, leaf, chestnut…” – the ear catches the pattern before the eye does. At home you can build the same row from real chestnuts and pine cones on the table.
