Trace the autumn leaves – curves and shapes, ages 3–4

A branch with four leaves and three more falling from it — seven leaves to trace. The leaves are drawn as dotted lines with a vein inside; after tracing, the child colors them and can draw more leaves falling to the ground.

Done — the sheet is in your downloads

In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

A leaf is one curve out and back – a shape drawn with a single movement of the wrist.

  • Seven leaves in two sizes and at different angles – a movement from the stem to the tip and back.
  • The vein inside is a short straight line on a slant.
  • Free space above the ground for the child's own leaves: they finish the sheet their way.

💬 Tip for parents

Show the movement in the air first: “up from the stem to the tip, and back down the other side”. It's fine if a leaf isn't symmetrical. Leave the coloring for another time if attention runs out.
