In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

L is made of straight lines only – down, across or slanted. A child knows those from pre-writing sheets, which is why straight-line capitals come first.

  • Strokes: a line down and, without lifting the crayon, a line across.
  • The model shows stroke order and direction: top to bottom and left to right, the way print is taught in school.
  • The words LION and LEAF give the letter a sound and a meaning – trace them and read them together.

💬 Tip for parents

One sheet, five minutes, a thick triangular crayon. If L is in your child's name or a family member's, say so – it will matter more at once. Praise starting at the dot and following the arrow, not how the letter looks.
