Ages 4–5🔤 Letter tracing
Letter N tracing worksheet for ages 4–5
Uppercase N: a line down, then from the top: slant down and straight up. The sheet has a big model with arrows, a row to trace, a row to try alone and the words NEST and NUT.
Done — the sheet is in your downloads
In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.
Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?
N is made of straight lines only – down, across or slanted. A child knows those from pre-writing sheets, which is why straight-line capitals come first.
- Strokes: a line down, then from the top: slant down and straight up.
- The model shows stroke order and direction: top to bottom and left to right, the way print is taught in school.
- The words NEST and NUT give the letter a sound and a meaning – trace them and read them together.
💬 Tip for parents
Before the crayon, write a big N together in the air, then with a finger on the model, saying the strokes out loud. If the line wobbles, that is fine. What matters is the direction: top to bottom and left to right.
