Ages 4–5🔤 Letter tracing
Letter X tracing worksheet for ages 4–5
Uppercase X: two slanted lines that cross in the middle. The sheet has a big model with arrows, a row to trace, a row to try alone and the words BOX and SIX.
Done — the sheet is in your downloads
In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.
Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?
X is made of straight lines only – down, across or slanted. A child knows those from pre-writing sheets, which is why straight-line capitals come first.
- Strokes: two slanted lines that cross in the middle.
- The model shows stroke order and direction: top to bottom and left to right, the way print is taught in school.
- The words BOX and SIX give the letter a sound and a meaning – trace them and read them together.
💬 Tip for parents
One sheet, five minutes, a thick triangular crayon. If X is in your child's name or a family member's, say so – it will matter more at once. Praise starting at the dot and following the arrow, not how the letter looks.
