Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

Z is made of straight lines only – down, across or slanted. A child knows those from pre-writing sheets, which is why straight-line capitals come first.

  • Strokes: in one stroke, across, slant down to the left, across.
  • The model shows stroke order and direction: top to bottom and left to right, the way print is taught in school.
  • The words ZOO and ZEBRA give the letter a sound and a meaning – trace them and read them together.

💬 Tip for parents

Before the crayon, write a big Z together in the air, then with a finger on the model, saying the strokes out loud. If the line wobbles, that is fine. What matters is the direction: top to bottom and left to right.
