Ages 3–4🧩 Puzzles
Match the shadow and odd one out – puzzles for ages 3–4
Two tasks on one sheet: match each picture to its shadow, and in every row find the one that doesn't belong.
Done — the sheet is in your downloads
In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.
Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?
Matching shadows develops shape perception (the basis for recognising letters). “Odd one out” rows are a first sorting task – the child says why.
- Shape perception without details (shadow).
- First categorising: same vs different.
- Explaining in words develops speech.
💬 Tip for parents
Let the child say why the picture doesn't belong (“that's a car and the others are balls”). The answer in words matters as much as the circle.
