Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?

An overview of letters and numbers in a small format – the last step before a writing book in first grade.

  • 36 boxes: all capital letters plus the digits 0–9.
  • 14 mm tall: the size children write at in school.
  • Every shape between two lines, with its own starting dot.

💬 Tip for parents

The sheet works twice over: once as handwriting practice and once as a chart where the child hunts for letters by sound ("find what SCHOOL starts with"). Use a pencil rather than a crayon – it fits a small box better. If the child writes numbers backwards, point at the starting dot instead of saying it is wrong; the dot fixes most of it.
