Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?

B has a curve. A curve needs a smooth stroke and more finger control than a straight line, so it comes after the straight-line capitals.

  • Strokes: a line down, then two bumps – a small one on top and a bigger one below.
  • The model shows stroke order and direction: top to bottom and left to right, the way print is taught in school.
  • The words BALL, BEAR and BUS give the letter a sound and a meaning – trace them and read them together.

💬 Tip for parents

Before the crayon, write a big B together in the air, then with a finger on the model, saying the strokes out loud. If the line wobbles, that is fine. What matters is the direction: top to bottom and left to right.
