In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?

U has a curve. A curve needs a smooth stroke and more finger control than a straight line, so it comes after the straight-line capitals.

  • Strokes: in one stroke, down, around the curve and back up.
  • The model shows stroke order and direction: top to bottom and left to right, the way print is taught in school.
  • The words UP, UNDER and UNCLE give the letter a sound and a meaning – trace them and read them together.

💬 Tip for parents

One sheet, five minutes, a thick triangular crayon. If U is in your child's name or a family member's, say so – it will matter more at once. Praise starting at the dot and following the arrow, not how the letter looks.
