Capital and small letters side by side to trace – ages 3–4

Four rows with three pairs each: Aa, Bb, Cc through to Ll. The capital and the small letter stand next to each other, both to trace, with starting dots at the end of the row. The child sees that every letter has two shapes that belong together.

Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

Two shapes of one letter side by side: the link children need before reading starts.

  • Twelve pairs from Aa to Ll, capital and small letter together.
  • It shows at once which pairs look alike (Cc, Oo) and which do not (Aa, Gg).
  • 18 mm tall from the top line to the baseline.

💬 Tip for parents

Read the pairs out loud: "big a, small a". That ties two shapes to one sound. Spend longer on the pairs that look nothing alike (Aa, Ee, Gg) – those are the ones children mix up. Four rows are two sittings, not one.
