Ages 3–4🔤 Letter tracing

Straight-line letters A, E, H, L, T to trace – ages 3–4

Five rows, each with one letter made of straight lines only: A, E, H, L and T. The letter comes twice to trace, and the rest of the row carries starting dots so the child can try it alone. The model letter shows numbered strokes and arrows.

Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

Letters made of straight lines are the first ones a child can write – the hand never has to turn a corner.

  • Five letters that need only strokes top-to-bottom and left-to-right.
  • Numbered arrows on the model: both order and direction are visible.
  • 22 mm tall between the lines, traced twice and then written alone.

💬 Tip for parents

Have the child follow the stroke with a finger on the paper before picking up the crayon. In the letter A the last stroke is the short bar in the middle – children often forget it. If a letter doesn't fit between the lines, nothing is spoiled; the lines are a hint, not a limit.
