Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?

In the year before school, counting stretches to ten. Rows of five help a child see a bigger amount as “five and some more”.

  • The top row always has five – the child can count on from five.
  • Each number from 6 to 10 appears exactly once.
  • The choices are neighbouring numbers, so the count has to be exact.

💬 Tip for parents

Try showing the shortcut: “Five on top. Five, six, seven.” If your child would rather count from one, that is right too. Answers: 7, 10, 6, 9, 8.
