In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?

A ten frame shows a number as part of ten. The child sees that seven is the whole top row and two more – and how many are missing to ten.

  • Five and five: the frame breaks numbers into “five and the rest”.
  • For every number you can also see how many boxes stay empty.
  • Instead of coloring, put buttons or beans on the boxes.

💬 Tip for parents

Color left to right, top row first. Ask: “How many boxes stayed white?” That is the start of adding to ten. The sheet can be reused: slip it into a plastic sleeve and use buttons.
