Lowercase g, f, j, p, y – letters with tails to trace
Five rows, each with one letter that does not stop at the baseline: g, f, j, p and y. Each comes five times to trace, and the rest of the row carries starting dots. The model shows the stroke order – in g, p and y the tail is the last stroke.

In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.
Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?
The letters that reach below the baseline – the ones children most often write upwards or far too short.
- Five letters with a tail: g, f, j, p and y on one page.
- The tail has its own space below the baseline, not above it.
- 19 mm above the line and room for the tail below, traced five times.
💬 Tip for parents
Let the child run the tail with a finger first, to feel how far down it goes. Lowercase g starts with the same circle as a – once that is there, only the stroke down is missing. In f and j the start is at the top instead; show that the stroke runs downwards, not up from the bottom.
