Why is this sheet for ages 5–6?

Longer words in small print – letter shapes, spacing and the length of a row all at once.

  • Six words of four to seven letters, 12 mm tall.
  • Three lines hold the height: o stops at the middle line, h and l go to the top.
  • A whole row to finish: size and spacing get practised too.

💬 Tip for parents

Spacing matters more here than neatness: show that a finger fits between two words. Split the long words in half and write them in two goes, so the child doesn't stop in the middle. If the letters wobble above the line, put one sheet of paper underneath – a firm surface steadies the grip.
