Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

The arch is the first curved stroke after the straight line. A bouncing ball gives the movement a rhythm – up, down, up, down.

  • Upper arches prepare the hand for m, n and numerals.
  • Rhythmic movement loosens the wrist.
  • Shrinking arches = a natural progression on one sheet.

💬 Tip for parents

Say the rhythm out loud (“hop – and down, hop – and down”) — speech helps the hand keep time. If the child stabs the arches with the pencil tip, show the movement in the air first with the whole arm.
