Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

The vertical line and the circle are the two strokes a child masters right around the third birthday. This sheet practises both on one page, each with a clear start and finish.

  • Vertical line top to bottom – the basis for numerals and capital letters.
  • A closed circle is a motor milestone of age three.
  • Wide tracks forgive imprecision, so the child experiences success.

💬 Tip for parents

The vertical line and the circle are the two key strokes of this age (children manage a circle around 3). Do not worry about the direction of the circle yet. If the child presses hard, draw with a finger in flour or on a big sheet on the wall for a while — it loosens the shoulder and wrist.
