Ages 4–5🔢 Count and write
Match a group of pictures to the numeral 6–10 – ages 4–5
Five groups of pictures – six, eight, ten, seven and nine – and five numerals in a different order. The pictures sit in two rows of five so they can be counted in fives.
Done — the sheet is in your downloads
In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.
Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?
Counting past five: the child starts leaning on a group of five instead of counting one by one.
- Pictures come in two rows of five – five and how many more.
- The numerals on the right are in a different order than the groups.
- The line across the page doubles as hand practice.
💬 Tip for parents
Show the child that the top row always holds five – the bottom row is the rest. Counting on from five is faster and less error-prone than one by one, and it helps with addition later. If they miscount, let them count just the bottom row again.
