In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

The neighbour on the left and on the right: the child learns to move both ways along the number line.

  • Range 2–5, so both answers stay within five.
  • Arrows show which side takes less and which takes more.
  • No pictures to count – this one works with the number line alone.

💬 Tip for parents

If the child hesitates, have them say the row from one and stop at the middle numeral; the number they said just before is one less. Counting down is harder than counting up, so help with the left-hand box. Answers out loud first, writing after that.
