Ages 3–4🔢 Count and write

One more: draw one more picture and write the new number – ages 3–4

Three rows: one, two and three fish, flowers and hearts on the left. In the empty frame the child draws one more of the same picture and writes in the box how many there are altogether.

In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

One more is the first counting task that is not just reciting the row – the child adds to a quantity.

  • Only one picture gets drawn: it does not have to be pretty, just one.
  • Range up to four – still countable on fingers.
  • The box for the numeral has a dashed guide line.

💬 Tip for parents

Let the child say how many pictures they see, then say “and one more” out loud. The drawing does not have to work out – a circle instead of a fish is fine. If the numeral comes out mirrored, show it the right way round once and leave their version as it is.
