Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

Cutting out a shape means not breaking the cut and turning the paper in time. The point of a star is the best practice there is: you have to stop at it.

  • An outline all the way round: the cut must not break.
  • The star's points teach stopping and turning the paper.
  • The heart's curve is cut in one smooth run.

💬 Tip for parents

Show the child that at a point the scissors stop, close on air and the paper turns. The cut-out shapes can be glued on coloured paper or strung on a thread as a garland. A left-handed child needs left-handed scissors to see the line.
