Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

A zigzag teaches stopping, turning the paper and carrying on in a new direction – the basis for cutting out shapes later.

  • At every corner the paper turns, not the scissor hand.
  • Four lines from big teeth to small: harder from left to right.
  • The straight parts between corners are short – one or two snips each.

💬 Tip for parents

Start with the line on the left; it has the biggest teeth. The main rule: the paper turns. The scissor hand keeps pointing away from the body. If corners get chopped off, remind: stop, turn, cut.
