Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

On a wave the paper turns smoothly while the scissors cut. Both hands work at once, each doing something different.

  • Smooth turning of the paper with the helper hand.
  • Short snips with the tips of the blades instead of long cuts.
  • Four waves from long to short.

💬 Tip for parents

A hint: “Little snips, like a fish nibbling.” A long cut flattens the wave. The helper hand holds the paper close to where the scissors are and turns it slowly. The cut strips make a good sea for a collage.
