Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

Stopping the scissors at a set point is a skill of its own. Short lines with a stop line practice it many times over.

  • Stopping at the thick line: control of force and length.
  • Thirteen short tries on one sheet.
  • The result is a fringe that can be bent like grass.

💬 Tip for parents

Say: “We only cut to the stop line, so the hedgehog keeps his feet.” If a cut goes too far, never mind. Bend the finished grass forward and back in turns and color the picture.
