Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

A loop is a stroke where the line crosses itself – a new task for the hand. It is the basis of cursive e, l and b, and the child needs it loose before writing begins.

  • Upper loops = direct preparation for cursive.
  • Shrinking loops shift the movement to the fingers.
  • One stroke without lifting – fluency.

💬 Tip for parents

Loops are often drawn too fast and then “stick together”. Try the rhythm in words: “up – around – down”. If the child cannot hit the loops, go back to the arch (Bee sheet) and try again in a few weeks.
