Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

Copying a pattern is a task known from school readiness checks. The child has to “read” the model (how many dots, which direction) and then guide the hand – linking eye, memory and hand.

  • Visual perception: counting dots, direction of the line.
  • Short straight strokes with a precise start and finish.
  • Gradual difficulty from 4 lines to 8.

💬 Tip for parents

If the child does not know where to start, point to the first dot of the model and the same one in the empty grid. Do not comment on mistakes while drawing — compare both pictures together at the end and let the child find what differs.
