Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

The vertical top-to-bottom line is the first stroke a child controls confidently. The fence repeats it ten times in a rhythm, with a clear purpose.

  • Vertical stroke top to bottom – the direction numerals and capitals are written.
  • The regular rhythm of pickets calms and sharpens the movement.
  • Left-to-right progress prepares for reading.

💬 Tip for parents

Count the pickets while drawing (“one, two, three…”) — the child links movement with counting. If the lines slant, turn the sheet so the child sits straight in front of the track; slanted lines are usually a matter of body position.
