In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 3–4?

A short horizontal line with a clear start and finish is easier for a three-year-old than a long one. The ladder offers twelve repetitions, each rewarded with “another rung”.

  • Horizontal line left to right – like reading.
  • Stopping at the rail trains control of the end of the stroke.
  • Repetition in a clear frame gives a sense of finished work.

💬 Tip for parents

It does not matter if the rungs are parallel. Watch whether the child can stop at the second rail — that is the skill this sheet trains. If not, put a finger on the rail as a “stop sign”.
