In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

A spiral is a circle that never closes – the hand has to widen the radius smoothly. It trains pressure control and an even movement, which the child needs for round letter shapes.

  • Smoothly growing curve without corners.
  • Drawing from the centre outwards – a different start than usual.
  • Three spiral sizes = three levels of difficulty.

💬 Tip for parents

The direction of the spiral does not matter yet, but check the child keeps the same one. If the shell runs out of the track, slow down: say “the snail is slow” and draw slowly together. Speed comes once the stroke is confident.
