Both hands: waves and loops – exercise for ages 4–5

Four pairs of mirrored paths from the middle of the page out to the edges: a wave, hills, loops and small ripples. Both hands move at the same time and draw a mirror image.

In the print dialog choose actual size (100 %) and black and white. Add a thick triangular crayon.

Why is this sheet for ages 4–5?

Drawing symmetrically with both hands connects the two halves of the body and of the page.

  • Four mirrored pairs, from the easy wave to loops.
  • Both hands make the same movement mirrored – left and right learn alike.
  • Paths 6 to 8 mm wide, longer than for three-year-olds.

💬 Tip for parents

Have the child sit exactly opposite the middle of the sheet, or one hand will reach further than the other. The loops are the hardest, so leave them for last. If both hands at once won't work, swap hands row by row – that counts too.
